Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if in-clinic or in-home is most suitable for me?
Below are some benefits of each environment, and for some clients, you may find a mix of in-home, and in-clinic is the best fit. If you’re still unsure, Kate is happy to discuss this with you!
Benefits of In-Clinic:
Rehabilitation equipment to optimize treatment options that are otherwise not possible within a home environment.
Dedicated treatment space. Not only can a dedicated space be large enough for therapeutic intervention, but it also offers a distraction-free space that can enhance focus during sessions.
Saves paying the travel expenses of a clinician
For some, accessing the community is an important part of their rehabilitation plan/progress as it can involve opportunities for added movement and problem-solving.
A clinical environment can provide opportunities for social interaction with other clients. This peer support and social interaction can be motivating and encouraging, helping clients stay committed to their rehabilitation goals.
Benefits of In-home:
If you cannot safely access the clinic.
Energy management. Getting to and from a clinical setting can be draining with certain medical conditions or mobility issues.
If transportation makes accessing the clinic prohibitive.
Your caregiver can use home visits by the therapist for respite.
In-home therapy provides the opportunity to reinforce movement strategies in your own environment.
What is the accessibility if I decide to access the clinic?
The clinic is located at the basement level, accessed by stairs OR stair lift from the side door of a residence. Please connect with Kate to discuss your specific mobility needs or concerns before booking a clinic appointment for the first time.
Is my physiotherapy intervention covered through extended insurance?
As a registered physiotherapist, all assessment & treatment sessions provided by Kate may be eligible for coverage by your extended health insurance plan. Please check your benefit plan for exact coverage details.

Do I need a doctor’s prescription for physiotherapy services?
You don’t need a doctor’s prescription for physiotherapy services, you can self-refer. However, some extended health insurers do require a doctor’s referral/prescription, so be sure to check your plan.
I see in your clinic photos you have a Pilates reformer; how may this be utilized as part of my treatment?
Kate may use the reformer concurrently with hands-on facilitation to reinforce optimal movement strategies.
The reformer offers resistance throughout a range of movement to provide feedback about postural alignment with an emphasis on training core musculature. This, in turn, leads to improved efficiency of movement patterns, flexibility, stability & balance.
